What is a Health Coach?

According to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (the world’s largest health coach training program) “A Health Coach is a wellness authority and supportive mentor who motivates individuals to cultivate positive health choices. Health Coaches educate and support clients to achieve their health goals through lifestyle and behavior adjustments.”

The health coaches at Health through Awareness are dedicated to implementing a form of therapeutic lifestyle change.

While most diets focus on what not to eat, our program encourages eating the right kind of foods, the right kind of fat, and the right kind of carbohydrates for you.


Therapeutic lifestyle changes are recommended as a primary treatment for:

One of the most powerful lifestyle changes you can make to reduce your risk for common chronic diseases of aging is to improve your body composition. While a certain amount of body fat is necessary for normal functioning, excess fat in relation to lean body mass (muscle, bones, organs, tissues etc) can greatly increase your health risks. A high ratio of muscle to fat increases your metabolism meaning you burn more calories each day.

Using the Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer (BIA) we can accurately measure body composition and monitor progress is such areas as body water, fat and fat-free mass. The BIA measures resistance and reactance and computes fat-free mass, body cell mass, total body water and intracellular water, providing a computerized printout for ongoing comparison.
